Life is sometimes so monotonous that everything you do on a daily basis would make you feel so claustrophobic and held up that looking beyond it would be a reality call u wana take!

How many times has it been that you get up in the morning go for work come back home totally tired and exhausted eat and straight go to sleep to wake up the next day just to start it off in the same routine each time? I remember my dad joking about it when we were kids saying when he leaves in the morning or returns back from work at night he always would see us horizontally lying and even though it was funny it was true somehow!

We study for a better course in school, in college we compete to stand out for a future career and at workplace we are all in a rat race for financial security and stability for life in this farce we live somehow small little things zest up and bring that lightning spark into your dead life sometime!

The five things that zest up my life are:

  1. When my phone pings:

Ahh when i wake up  or am stuck in traffic or having a bad day trust me there is nothing more beautifull than a loved one being concerned about my where abouts even thought they could least do something to help me out from a stuck situation but a sweet talk a calming word can bring back that smile on my face in no time. An assuring voice can lift up my spirits tremendously.

  1. When you spend time alone:

I know this would sound weird cause everybody loves having people around them and acknowledging their small deeds but trust me knowing yourself better is more important than putting up a fake smile to fit in a place when am  not going to be myself there rather sit home and watch a movie or listen to music watering the plants in the garden would pump me up.

  1. Watching old childhood photographs and videos:

That little me crying in a cradle when I was born and that aww I was so cute is such a wonderful feeling when I go through the flashback in the old albums up my shelf. It brings back the feeling of innocence and emotions being a kid I could do and say what I want without being judged for being right or wrong. Sing, shout, scream be who I wanted to be without any responsibility or pressure being a grown up.

  1. Music and Dance:

No matter how tiring the day has been dancing to the pop numbers being played eithr on tv,lappy, radio gets back the electric rush through me like someone has truly said dance like nobody is watching and shake a leg to every tune ur humming. Its beautiful to connect to music from the soul it takes you to a different place altogether.

  1. Learning something new:

Being the person I am I don’t belong to one genre as such anything I come across interesting or intruisive curious to know more about the topic and expanding my knowledge is what I look upto like surfing through it online and discussing it with friends wanting to know more about the subject itself is a need to educate myself about is what I feel and the next time somebody questions me on it answering it confidently gives me a sense of being intellectual in my own way.

Star of my Life!

The first WOMEN we learn from are usually our mothers. Not always, but often the first role models for how we want to be as women in the world is our mother and/or grandmothers. The women around us are those from whom we learn what it means to BE a woman – and how to enact our strength and our femininity.
Our mothers and grandmothers also show us how to take care of a family, how to take care of children and a partner, as well as other extended family members. They show us how to interact with our community, and in our church.
Our mother shows us the importance of work, and responsibility, and getting things done.
They show us how to deal with deal, and our resources. They show us how to deal with difficult times, and how and when to show our emotions.
There is so much we learn from our mothers – both what we want to do and what to avoid – and we are immensely grateful to them (at least, I know I am for mine!).
Often, however, what we do not learn from our mothers is how to be a career woman.
So while we can look up to our mothers for a number of different characteristics and traits they’ve taught us, it is not common for us as Latinas to have a mother who was a businesswoman or a professional.
For me, I learned kindness, acceptance, connecting, and open-mindedness from my mother. My mother showed her emotions, including her love and affection, for me and my brother. I saw her cry when she was hurt, and smile, laugh and sing when she was happy.
My mom is the one that always comes off the airplane with new friends (with whom she’s bragged about me). I used to be embarrassed that she talked about me, but now I’m glad that she’s proud, and realize it’s part of who she is.
She’s the one who keeps in touch with people for 40 years, and the one who loved all of my friends, no matter how much trouble they’d gotten into.
There are a number of traits for which I look to my mother as an example. I am lucky she was my mom.
However, when it comes to the professional setting, I didn’t always know how to behave since I had no example to follow. Sometimes this was a good thing– I used my friendliness to get me through, and got to decide how I wanted to interact with my professional colleagues. Sometimes this wasn’t such a good thing – like when I didn’t know how to deal with difficult people in the workplace, or what to ask for from my bosses and mentors.
Role models are so important, and I am glad for the example my mother set for me, and at the same time, I learned that I had to have additional role models for the kind of woman I wanted to be in the professional setting.
As we start the new year, and look forward to the goals and aspirations we set, I am grateful for the foundation I have, as well as serious about the steps I need to take to get to the next level.
Thanks, Mom, for not only being an example for me, but for helping me set the foundation for who I am – and supporting me to make it to places you had never been, but aspired to for me! And thanks to all those other women to whom I’ve looked for role models of strong, successful businesswomen.

Why i like my name – By Annette

With everyone being baptized with different

names with meaning according to their day, month, birth

chart or some sort of occasion, I too have a name that

signifies an auspicious beginning of life….When I was around

10 years old I had quite a few people being so curious to

know what exactly my name meant or how exactly do they

pronounce it to get it right, I didn’t ponder over the

thought so much or the meaning behind it back then but

later on as I grew up I figured out that I should probably

figure out by now what’s so special in a name or why did the

elder’s in the family choose to baptize me with this

name…My Mom’s Dad i.e my late Grandfather was a highly

intellectual man with knowledge in abundance to share with

whoever he came across…A week before I was about to be

born he suggested this name to my parents after quite a

good brief research over it…I was born on the 1st of May

1993 at 12.05pm in the afternoon in

Mangalore,Karnataka….He decided My name should begin

with the first alphabet “A” as I was born on the first and

my birth date when added sums up to a total of 1 i.e

1+5+1+9+9+3=28 (2+8) = 10(1+0)=1.

Have being born in a catholic family it comes

under tradition that while selecting a name for a new born

we do it according to the bible a holy book with biblical

names and specific meanings to it…They could either be a

latin or greek derivation done later of the name in

English…My name has a total of 7letters and 2syllables

with 1A, 2N, 2E, 2T to it and is derived from the language

“Hebrew” in which my name “ANNETTE” means “Grace and

Dignity” and the actual pronounciation to it is AH-NET but

commonly pronounced as A-nnett by family and friends….Im

very happy to have been blessed with this name as I don’t

find it common like Karen,Rita,Priya,Neha etc…It somehow

distinguishes me from the common and makes me feel so

special…I remember being in the 10th

know that the only one who shares a name common to mine

was a little girl in the 2nd Grade so that’s the ratio of how

uncommon this name has been throughout my life…It’s a

little difficult to to get the pronounciation exactly right to

my name at the first instance but if you do you must be a

real good one at your vocabulary I betcha!

A tarot reader sometime back had told me that

my name has a deep inner desire to inspire others in a

higher cause, and to share my own strongly held views on

valued matters.

People with this name are excellent at analyzing,

understanding, and learning. They tend to be mystics,

philosophers, scholars, and teachers. Because they live so

much in the mind, they tend to be quiet and introspective,

and are usually introverts but fun loving. When presented

with issues, they will see the larger picture. Their solitary

thoughtfulness and analysis of people and world events may

make them seem aloof, and sometimes even melancholy.

Annette was also a television serial that ran on The

Mickey Mouse Club during the show’s third season (1957-

1958). It starred Annette Funicello as Annette McCloud,

a poor, orphaned country girl who moves into town with

her upper-class aunt and uncle. . Most of the plot was

around her at high school trying to fit in with everybody

else. I also share my name with some famous Hollywood

celebrities like Annette Bening (American actress) ,

Annette Stroyberg(Danish actress), Annette Zilinskas

(American musician) , Annette Salmeen (American swimmer,

Olympic gold medalist, Rhodes Scholar, biochemist)

The day am born is considered as a Labour’s Day

throughout the world with qualities like leadership and

team spirit seem to be inbuilt in me it also happens to be

Maharashtra Day in the state of Maharashtra also declared

as a public holiday where no one can make an excuse saying

they are too busy to celeberate or checking the calendar

every year to hope that their birthday’s doesn’t fall on a

working weekday atleast. One of the other co-inciding fact

about my birthday is the day I was born my Godparents got

married the same day in the evening which calls each time

for a double celeberation…

In conclusion I would love to say that am very glad to have

this name and it’s a special name that define the uniqueness

I behold in me…
